      <image:title>projects - 3's Company, cork bench/stools</image:title>
<image:caption>The desired aesthetic for this bench was to be modern and edgy in contrast to the warmth of the material. There are no right angles on the bench to create a dynamic form. The form is comprised of three hallow stools which may be “corked” together or pulled apart. Because the tiles are rescued flooring, one side was factory finished with a water based urethane which allows for movement and extreme durability. The top of the seat is left over cork underlay and finished with a natural bees wax rub. This bench is a stylish, ergonomic and eco conscience seating option which can be reconfigured into several arrangements and comfortably enjoyed.</image:caption>

<image:caption>A client brought these falling apart, antique doors from the middle east to give them a good home. The doors needed the inlay to be repaired and they needed to be reframed for structure. The clients's home office is a modern space on the 34th floor overlooking downtown Toronto, so I resembled the skyline in the bookshelf's design. Each section of the cabinet is a different width and depth and height to mimic skyscrapers and allow for the two different size doors to fit the cabinet section.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I am really drawn to the strong lines that are present in De Stijl era design, as well as the interesting use of line placement and simple geometric shapes used to occupy space. The back rest and foot rest are joined to the legs and seat in an unusual/non-traditional way, intended to emphasize the idea of these two planes intersecting the legs and seat. The ash bar stool was featured in Fine Woodworking magazine in 2011.</image:caption>
